Answer: The health information technology includes the combined use of technology along with the medicine. The topic was EHR ( Electronic Health Record). This is the most recent advances made in the healthcare system where use of technology is done to increase the productivity of work.

Paperwork is a time taking process and chances of missing of the documents is more as compared to the data saved electronically. The main role of the EHR is to provide better and useful data of the patient which is saved for further use. This is a time saving, cost-effective as well as it produces better results.

The EHR has much impact on the nursing practice as it enables to provide all the relevant data regarding the patient. All the pieces of information are stored in a synchronized form which saves a lot of time of nurses. This also results in enhancing patient safety. The combination of the health IT and nursing practice results in measuring staff needs increases the efficacy as well as the quality of care.
