Answer #1

Abuse can occur at any place. Usually females, childrens, elders or vulnerable peoples are the easy persons to be abused by others.

One such incident can easily happen with the elders in the home,(neglecting them, isolating, not providing them the basic needs like food ,water, shelter ,protection by their own childrens when they cannot afford the family rather be dependent. This sort of abuse can be greater with a sick and bedridden elders.Often not all neglect their parents but a few due to their busy and hectic lifestyles making them difficult to provide time and care for elders in their home. The elders are helpless here. When one sees from outside it makes them anger and frustrated for treating their parents in this way. When one pursues a nursing career after seeing these types of incident can make them to understand the real life relationship and try to avoid these negative behaviors. Moreover when an elderly patient is admitted probably it makes a nurse to be more caring and compassionate to treat them and come out of the disease to lead a quality life. This even makes a nurse to assess and identify for any abuse at the time of admission and take necessary steps to avoid any consequences and protect the patient.
