It can be concluded that the childhood vaccines are safe as based on the nested case-control study of nearly half a million children done by Glanz and colleagues from the Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD) , funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, cumulative vaccine antigen exposure through the first 23 months of life did not lead to an increased risk of emergency department and inpatient visits for infectious diseases that were not targeted by vaccines as observed over the next 24 months (Leary, 2018).
