Stop Watch Time Study:

It was introduced by F.W. Taylor
-Most widely used Work Measurement method
*Steps:

  • Define task and inform the worker
  • Determine the number of cycles to observe
  • Time the job and rate the worker's performance
  • Compute the standard time

Standard time is defined as the amount of time it should take a qualified worker to complete a specified task, working at a sustainable rate, using given methods, tools, equipment, raw materials, and workplace arrangement.

The number of cycles in a stopwatch Time Study was determined by:

Variability of observed times
-Desired accuracy
-Desired level of confidence for the estimated job time

First scenario.:

Cycle time = Average time between completion of units.

*In the first scenario,

6 min/part

Therefore we can say that 4 part = 24minute

*In the second scenario,

average = 190.8 minutes

*In the third scenario, we can say that :
