Human happiness is mainly established with the development and exercise of our Higher rational faculties. He said that the happiness which comes from the utilitarian right in conduct. Actions are right in proportion as they tend to promote happiness, wrong as they tend to reverse the happiness.

Existence of pleasure and absence of the pain are both the basis which people desire and as the foundation of the morality.

He argues that pleasure can differ in quality a nd quantity and that pleasure that are rooted on one's higher faculty must be weighted more heavily than the other baser pleasure.
