I need help in explaining the pharmacological action of Propanolol in an easy way that the patient will understand my teaching and what part of the body does this actions take? The template says it is a "Nonselective beta blocker with negative inotropic, chronotropic dromotropic properties." Thanks in advance.

Peoponalol is an Antihypertensive drug classified under Beta blocker.

It is also indicated in many cases like thyrotoxicosis,irregular heart beat,hemiangiomas,certain anxiety and tremors.angina,heart  attack.

The effect lasts for about an hour to one and half hour with the half life of 4-5 hours

The pharmacological action of this drug upon consuming enters the blood or circulatory system in 30 minutes.>>This binds with the beta 1 adrenergic receptor by competing with the sympathomimetic neurotransmitter.>>This inhibits the action of sympathetic nerves in the heart.(decrease sympathetic function)>>As a result of this the neurotransmitter binding to beta 1 adrenergic receptors are blocked present in the heart cells>> This leads to cyclic adenosine monophosphate function cessation ,which finally reduces the production of protein kinance >>calcium influx>> dilation of blood vessels>>decrease heart rate and blood pressure.
