A small amount of fat is an essential part of the balanced diet, but if it is excess it can develop various diseases and fatal conditions.

The main reason that it develop a disease is that it increases the caloric intake and hence release harmful elements into your bloodstream that may affect your health.

consuming more than 25 to 35 % of calories can lead to various condition such as overweight, heart disease, and stroke.

There are mainly two types of fat :

  1. Saturated fat
  2. Unsaturated fat ( safe to use)

Saturated fat: it is found in food source such as meat and dairy products as well as some plants such as coconut oil. By eating too much saturated fat the LDL level in the blood increase which then elevates the risk for heart disease and stroke.

Transfat: can also increase the cholesterol level.

Disease associated with fat intake :

1. Obesity:

  • all type of fat such as polyunsaturated, monounsaturated, saturated and trans fat if taken more than the recommended amount will increase the caloric intake in an average day make your weight gain.
  • this increases the pressure on the internal organs and thus end up in malfunction of various organs ( increase blood pressure, damage live and gallbladder )

2. Constipation:

  • if the fat intake is more then it may affect the digestive organ such as stomach and colon resulting in constipation.

3. Atherosclerosis:

  • when consuming saturated fat the blood cholesterol rises which lead to arterial damage and plaques will be formed.
  • transfat and saturated fat contribute to the plaques and narrow the blood vessels resulting in blockage and decrease blood flow. Thus, lead to heart failure and kidney diseases.

Therefore, this is the connection between fat and disease development.
