As nursing has become increasingly “professionalized” through advanced degrees, specialization, and clinical practice, nurses’ salaries and responsibilities have also increased. Now, hospitals substitute non-nurses for nurses to perform all but the most technical tasks. What are the implications for the nursing profession? Have nurses lost their traditional role of hands-on patient care and, if so, is that to the profession’s and the patients’ advantage or disadvantage?

Answer #1

Answer: Nurse plays major roles in patient's life. They not only perform the care and treatment for the patients but they also do multiple task in the healthcare organization. They act as a counselor for the patient as well as patient's family. They take intensive care of the patient by avoiding negligence, medical error ect. Nurse have to perform their duty along with the ethical knowledge so as to increase the positive outcome from the patient.

Nurses are loosing their major role as they used to perform their task and duties. This is a kind of disadvantages for the patients as well as for the profession. This is because nurses have experience, enough knowledge and hands on practice, they know how to take better care of the patients so they can easily look after them and provide patients quality of care. But if someone who replaces the nurse are not that much eligible and hence causes more medical errors making the patient's life on risk.
