Discuss six methods to evaluate adaptive strategies. Based on your new understanding of each, which might be appropriate to apply in your current work setting. If not currently working, from a healthcare administration standpoint, which would you be most comfortable with using and why? Be specific.

Adaptive (or Agile) Strategy is an approach to strategy that is characterized by adaptive planning, early adoption, evolutionary development, continuous improvement and a rapid and flexible response to change. The formulation and implementation of strategy are not separate sequential phases but go hand in hand.

The unique way in which each culture uses it's particular physical environment; Those aspects of culture that serve to provide the necessities of life - Food, clothing, shelter, and defense. Five different types of adaptive strategy :-

1. foraging

2. horticulture

3. agriculture

4. pastoralism

5. industrialism

# Six methods to evaluate adaptive strategies are :-

- external/internal matrix

- product life cycle

- boston consulting group (BCG) portfolio analysis

- extended portfolio matrix analysis

- strategic position and action eval (SPACE)

- program evaluation

# The best method to be applied in the current work setting is external/ internal matrix which uses SWOT analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of adaptive strategy . SWOT is acronym used for Strengths, Weakness , Opportunity and Threats. Using SWOT analysis helps to know about the healthcare staffs strengths and weakness which helps to improve the strengths of an individual and to work on the weaknesses . Provision of opportunities to improve on the existing practice and learning to how to deal with the threats .
