Answer #1

Both type of cares are provided to seriously ill patients and are beneficial, sometimes both terms are used interchangeably but it is wrong as there is difference in palliative care and hospice care with respect to timing like:

Palliative care

Hospice care

This is like a curative care which involves the therapeutic regimen including medication and treatment plans when there is hope that patient may get cured and will be normal

But this is comfort care which is provided in last when all the treatments get failed and there is no hope of survival of the patient

It begins from diagnosis and involves treatment

Begins at the end when patient is hardly to survive less than 6 months

More emphasis on the treatment plans

more emphasis on the family counseling and support

This care is provided at the hospitals, nursing homes and palliative care clinics

Can be provided at home and nursing home sometimes at the assisted facility centers
