Ans) Hospice:

- A program of dying care provided at home or in an institution that promotes "living until you die" and supports the patients through the dying process and the surviving family through the dying and the bereavement process.

Palliative Care:

1. Active total care of patients whose disease is not responsive to curative treatment.
2. Control of pain, psychological, social and spiritual symptoms.
3. Goal is achieve best possible quality of life for patient and families.
4. Seeks to prevent, relieve, reduce or soothe the symptoms of disease or disorder without effecting a cure.

- The difference between Hospice and Palliative Care:
Hospice is offered for patients under 6 months and Palliative care is offered for patients more than 6 months but both offer the same type of services.
