ANSWER :
DIAGNOSIS - Diabetes Insipidus
PATHOPHYSIOLOGY - The main organ effected for fluid changes are kidneys.Anti diuretic harmone increases water in the distal tubules which acts on proteins known as aquaporins. It leads to binding of anti diuretic harmone to G protein receptors in the distal tubules of kidneys. It leds to increase in AMP with protein kinase. It allows water to enter in collecting ducts cells. It leads to re absorption of water into blood and leads to increase in the production of urine.
MEDICATIONS TO TREAT DIABETES INSIPIDUS -
* Desmopressin tablet in the form of oral route
* Carbamazepine
* Thiazide diuretics - Hydrochlorthiazide to reduce the symptoms of hypovolemia
* Amiloride - Used to block sodium uptake in blood
* Thiazide
* Loop diuretics
