Answer #1

Ordered dose of Pepcid is 30 mg IV every 12 hourly

Avialable dose of pepcid is 5mg / ml

5mg of pepcid is available in 1 ml

1 mg of pepcid is avaialbe in 1/ 5

30 mg of pepcid will be availabe in 1/5 *30 = 6ml

for 30 mg of pepecid, 6ml from the available dose has to be taken

Dilulent according to the manufacturer is 100 ml of 5%W.

Time for infusing is 60 mins

Calaulate Micro drops per minute

Formula = Total volume / Total time * drop factor

Total volume =6 ml

Total time is 60 mins

Drop factor = 20

Flow rate = 6 / 60 * 20

= 2 drops / min
