Subjective Data Last menstrual cycle: 18 days ago Pain is dull pain Breasts feel heavy and tender Performs monthly breast self-examinations Objective Data Breasts moderate size, evenly pigmented, bilaterally symmetric, and hang equally with smooth contour. Venous patterns bilaterally similar. Breasts firm, smooth, elastic without tenderness, lumps, or nodules. Areolae round, nipples protruding, symmetric, soft, pliable, smooth, and intact without discharge. Axillary lymph nodes are not palpated. 1. The other questions the nurse should ask about the breast pain are :-

- ask for the intensity of pain using pain scale

- does breast pain occur before menstruation or after mensuration

- breast pain is present all over the day or during sometime only

- is she taking any medications for pain

- is the breast pain radiating to the surrounding area

- does she her breast as hard or firm during pain

2. Some of the causes of breast pain are :-

- hormonal imbalance

- cysts

- trauma

- breast abscess

-breast cancer

- oral contraceptives

- HRT

3. Problem list from subjective data are :-

- Dull pain in the breasts

- Breasts feel heavy and tender

Problem list from objective data are :-

- Nil

4. As per her age ,she is in her reproductive age ,she might be taking oral contraceptives and it is cause behind her breast pain .
