why should the SSA (sulfosalicylic acid precipitation test )be performed on the supernatant from centrifuged specimens?
SSA can be used in testing of serum ,body fluids and urine. In a urine sample 60% of SSA is added kept in ice for 15 minutes .Then the protein precipitate is removed after centrifuge method. The specimen is further analysed by acid supernatant for identifying the branched chain especially in Maple syrup urine disease. This is possible only when acid supernatant analysis is done.
Also this is used as a confirmatory test when there is a positive reading in the urine test strip for the presence of protein
If can Guv accurate quantity of the protein in the urine

List at least 3 reasons why Gram stains are performed directly on patient specimens.
When should the initial penetration test be performed on a web server? Why?
An Izod impact test was performed on 20 specimens of PVC pipe. The sample mean is 1.25 and the sample standard deviation is 0.25. Test the hypothesis that Ho: 0 = 0.1 vs H : 0 + 0.1 at a = 0.01, and draw a conclusion. State any necessary assumptions about the underlying distribution of the data.
Q1-D In a fatigue test, a number of specimens should be prepared from the same batch of material. Starting at comparatively high values for the magnitude of the stress reversal, cach specimen is tested to failure at a successively lower level of stress reversal. The magnitude of the stress reversal and the number of cycles to failure are recorded graphically for cach specimen. Plot the expected trend of strength versus number of cycles for mild steel material. [30 Marks] Answer...
Why is precipitation seen after the addition of sulfuric acid to a solution containing salicylic acid and acetic anhydride?
8. А Explain why techniques that are used to combat acid precipitation focus on removing the non-metal oxide and not the other reactant in the reaction.
Read the information below and answer the questions: A newspaper headline reads “Acid Precipitation Not a Threat.” The article states that the city’s air pollution control board has been monitoring sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides in the air and recording the pH of precipitation for the past five years. Air samples have been collected daily at two sites: at the busiest downtown intersection and at the entrance to a privately owned electrical power–generating station. On most days, the power station...
a catalase test is usually not performed on bacteria growing on a blood agar plate. Why not?
Question 2 (20 pts): Charpy V-notch test was performed for different steel specimens. Please answer the following questions briefly. a) (3) As the temperature becomes lower, the metals usually experience a transition from ductile fracture to brittle fracture at a certain temperature. This temperature is called: b) (6) The graph below shows the test results for annealed 1018 steel and annealed 1045 steel. Please label the curves with relevant steel (1018 or 1045) and briefly explain your reason. 1018 AND...
