Answer #1

Given

Medication :Clindamycin

Weight:60lb (27.2kg)

Dose:5mg/kg/day

When 1kg=5mg

Then 27.2 kg=??

Cross multiply and divide

=136mg (27.2×5÷1)

The dose of medication to be administered is 136mg /day

So one dose will be 136÷4=34mg (as it is QID)

Available

100mg/ml (i.e.,1ml=100mg)

Then 34mg=??

=0.34ml (34×1÷100)

0.34ml of solution is needed per each IV injection
