1. The PPE that are need to be worn for the following precaution are as follows,

  • For the Standard precaution the staff need to wash their hand with soap and water ( hand hygiene ) and to wear gloves.
  • For the Contact precaution the staff should need to use the following PPE such as Hand hygiene, the proper gloves and fluid resistant types of gown.
  • For the Droplet Precaution the Health care provider should need to apply hand hygiene, wear gloves and gown and also mask and goggle
  • For Airborne precaution the HCP should need to have a hand hygiene, and to use usual gloves and gown and to significantly use the Respirator or N95 mask to prevent airborne transfer of infection.

2. From the given Examples of patients, Patient A who had a laparoscopic hysterectomy admitted to Post op for routine care has the greatest risk for infection. Because she is suffering from lupus disease and her immune systems was poor in function so she may have a more chance of getting infection.

Following are the three nursing intervention to reduce the risk of infection,

  • provide care to the incision site where the surgery took place.
  • protect the client from secondary infection that are evolved from hospital setting
  • provide hygienic care and treat the client safely from free of infection.
