Candida glabrata belongs to the class saccharomycetes and the genus is candida. It causes disease that is known as candidema which is the most common type of infection which is hospital accquire. Mainly the first line treatment is given in the case of genital infection is terconazole atleast for 7 days.

It has been found that 200 patients were infected with the Candida glabrata in a hospital setting. The treatment given to 100 of patients which was only fluconazole whereas the other 100 patients were being treated with the combination of the drug that were fluconazole and drug X.

In the result it has been found that the mortality rates observed within the 30 days in the ICU ward was 43% for the patients treated only with fluconazole whereas the experimental group found to be 20%.
