A clinic patient has been hospitalized due to child abuse. You read the article in the paper and recognized the name of the father as the person who was arrested. You notice your coworker accessing the medical record of the patient from the hospital. You ask her about it and she says that she was just canceling their appointment that was coming up. Why should you be concerned that your coworker is looking at the patient’s record? Does any any employee at your clinic have the right to look at the patient’s medical record because that person is a patient there?

Child abuse is medico legal case (MLC). So that the records of MLC are not to be revealed to any other person outside except the medical staff.

Medical records of those cases are secured safely to prevent other's get information from medical records.

Only medical staff like

Physician and Nurses are having right to see the medical records of medico legal cases.
