# The role of a scribe are :-

-to record- into the medical record and detailed information from the patient's visit to clinic

-general role and scope dependent on physician, physician group, and setting/ hospital in which the scribe is employed

# His responsibilities during scribbling are :-

-documentation

-patient flow

# John should behave in a professional way in the examination room , listening with attention to the patient t and physician and documenting it . He should maintain privacy and confidentiality of the patient's health information.

# To succeed as a scribe he should be aware of the following :-

-electronic medical record navigation

-HIPAA and patient privacy

-flow and function of the ED

-basic medical terminology

-general anatomy and physiology

-methodology of writing an HPI

-awareness of billing principles as they pertain to the medical note

-common medications
