To calculate the 24 hour fluid requirement of a 8 year child

The recommended fluid is 1500ml +20ml/kg above 20 kg in a child of 8 years old

So the weight of the child is 30 kg

For first 20 kg=1500ml

For weight after 20kg add 20ml for each kg

that is the remaining weight is 10kg

So 20×10=200ml

Total 1500+200=1700ml
