Answer #1

Ans) The natural ageing process often places older adults at an increased risk of having a fall.

- There are three main reasons why older people are more likely to have a fall are:

• chronic health conditions, such as heart disease, dementia and low blood pressure (hypotension), which can cause dizziness.

- Risk factors for falls in the elderly include increasing age, medication use, cognitive impairment and sensory deficits.

- Determining and treating the underlying cause of a fall can return patients to baseline function and reduce the risk of recurrent fall.

Fall prevention:

1) Keep moving

2) Physical activity can go a long way toward fall prevention.

Such activities reduce the risk of falls by improving strength, balance, coordination and flexibility. If you avoid physical activity because you're afraid it will make a fall.
