Ans:- Sub acute care:- Sub acute care is defined as comprehensive inpatient care designed for someone who has an acute illness , injury or exacerbetion of a disease process.

It is required during the post acute phase of an acute episode.

This care is for patients who remain critically ill during the post acute phase of illness and injury.

Sub acute care have four levels:-

1.extensive,

2.special ,

3. Clinical,

4. Rehabilitation.

Examples of sub acute care in health care are as follows:-

Includes long term hospitalization sach as rehabilitation, brain injury, substance abuse, transplantation etc.
