18) Wound Drain
Wound drain is the medical equipment used to drain the unwanted fluid from the body to the outer surface. Wound drains are classified into open wound drain and closed wound drain.
18.1) Closed wound drain:
It has a closed type of drain system which attaches to the wound and secured with suture. It has vacuum drains which apply negative pressure and non-vacuum drains. It does not expose the content to the atmosphere and does not contact with the external environment. So it has a low risk of infection compared to open wound drainage.
18.2) Open wound drain:
This type of drain is inserted directly into the wound bed that drains fluid on gauze or stoma bag. It is secured with the suture or pin. The drain has been contacted with the external atmosphere. It has more chance of risk of potential infection.

PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY WILLIAM MARSH Describe an example of an open system and a closed system on Earth. For the open system, describe the specific energy and matter that comes into and/or out of the system. For the closed system, describe why energy and matter stays within the system. Using Figure 2.7 and Figure 2.16 in the textbook as a reference, describe any patterns you see on Earth that can be categorized based on latitude or longitude. In other words, look...
18) To safely administer blood product to clients, Nurses should be vigilant through all the steps of transfusion: storage, transportation, handling, checking and disposing of blood bag and related waste. In the table given below, you will find each of these steps or variables and some choices given for each of the variable. Read the choices and complete the table as required. (30-50 words each) CRITICAL STEPS What is the correct technique/ way /procedure? 18.1) Storage Minimum word required :...
Classify each of the following as an isolated, an open or a closed system. a) The sun. b) A picnic cooler.
2. What do the terms closed system and open system mean? What is an adiabatic process? If 250 J is added to a system as heat, what is the value of Q in the energy balance equation? If 250 J of work is done by the system, what is the value of W? If a closed system has an internal energy of 100 kcal at the beginning of a process and 50 kcal at the end, what is U?
