A tumor is found in the right breast of a young female. The breast is removed, and metastasis is not present. Chemotherapy is scheduled, but why do you think its required if metastasis is not present, and the tumor has been removed?

Because after removal of tumour and even breast, although metastasis is not present. Still there is requirement of chemotherapy as well as radiation therapy to destroy the possible fragments or units/ nuclei of the cancerous cells which may further propogate to develop tumours and propell for the metastasis for the development of the breast cancer in future.
