Answer #1

ICD-10-CM Diagnosis Code: C54.1

CPT code: 58340

Rationale:

For the ICD-10 CM code, the first alphanumeric index has to be searched for carcinoma. Under carcinoma table, the endometrium has to be searched because the patient is suspected for endometrial carcinoma. C54.1 indicates neoplasm of the endometrium. The patient was diagnosed with the help of the hysterosonographic study. It was done by catheterization and introduction of contrast material. So it could be coded as 58340. If it is done with help of color doppler the code may vary.
