Respond to :

The student feels that she has a good understanding of evidence-based practice as a whole but she would like to become more familiar with research because research in combination with evidence-based practice is used to guide nursing practice (Schmidt & Brown, 2019). Scientific research is considered to be the best source of evidence and research information is stronger than that of trial and error, authority, and personal experience (Schmidt & Brown, 2019).

Research and evidence-based practice is important to the student and her nursing practice because she believes following research allows for the best patient outcomes. The student feels that research and evidence-based practice is important to the larger nursing profession because as time has progressed newer research is conducted which creates new evidence-based practices. Research and evidence-based practice are the holy grail of the nursing profession because without them we would all be clueless.
