- consent given for procedure like CT
- signing the job which was on contractual basis and it was the last contract I signed for my job
Study questions :-
1. Implied consent is the granting of permission for health care without a formal agreement between the patient and health care provider. Examples :-
If the individual rolls up their sleeves for an injection or for checking blood pressure , they are assumed to have given consent and have no legal grounds to claim it that it was done against their will
Express consent is required before surgery and other high risk procedures . Examples like - Hemodialysis , cardiac catheterization etc .
2. In this case the patient is actually not fully given the details regarding the surgery ,why it's being done ,what are its complications ,what will be follow up care etc . And the patient has misunderstood that it's a small procedure and she will be all right within a week . Informed consent is also not taken from the patient .
To handle this situation I will provide the patient a detailed explanation including the side effects , complications , what all will be the follow up care etc the procedure in a language which is understood by her and will ask to her express her concerns and then informed consent will be taken from her in front of witnesses.
