Chemotherapy administration - do's and don'ts:

Precautions for patient and the nurse:

The nurses must explain the patients about the possible toxicity of the drugs, and keep all the information ready that is needed for treating the accidental exposure to the drug (for example, inducing emesis during accidental ingestion). The medications with torn package, wet, unused, and expired date should be returned back to the hospital or the pharmacy store. The particular dietary supplements or other specifications should be mentioned. The number of individuals coming in contact with the drugs should be reduced to the maximum extent. The patient’s utensils should be washed separately from the others.
