In what ways are these poems similar and how do they differ in tone, style, subject matter, and theme? “Because I could not Stop for Death,” with Robert Frost’s poem “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.”
ANS) These are two wonderful poems for comparing and checking the similarity.Actually from the primary view i would would like to explain is that both poem are trying to say about the death and which is represented in typical way in both poems.
-- The poem "Because I could not stop for Death" review the personality of death humanize as a transportation driver who really conclude to take up the speaker. And ongoing through that the traveler will be getting colder, up to the time the coach stops at her graves side by and the traveler understands that the coach traveling has been moving to the eternity. And there is great sarcasm in Dickinson's demonstration of death and the procedure of dying, concentrating on the gradual understanding of the speaker and what is experiencing to her and the demonstration of death, usually so frightening and scary,as a well mannered carriage driving person. And the last 2 stanza pairs 2 varying tones concerning death and the orators receiving of it .
-- There is a sound of the orators comprehension seems to last lengthy than centuries. And there is also a sound of calm acceptance. And here the Dickinson shows the death in such a route that demythologises the scaring figure.
** "Stopping by woods on a snowy Evening" is clearly saying about the wish for the rest and absence of accountability that death carries with it and it is very mandatory to know about the symbolic importance about the wood in the poem.
-- The speaker is trying to stick on to the woods and that is explained as the enticing and almost alluring.Anyway now also that person is having some of the responsibilities at this level of life, presented in the word of honour he has to retain and record how the reoccurrence of the last line strengthen the route that his life is not finished so far whilst at the similar time demonstrating the death as the sleep as an interesting level of life that want to be desired for as time when there is no another kind of promises to hold and the body can take rest in s wonderful place.
So we can say that both poems are novel demonstration of death, not as anything to be frightened ,but as the thing to be yearned in one way and in another way the something that we are astonished.
THANKS!!!!!
