Answer #1

Group:

A group is defined as two or more interacting and interdependent individuals who come together to achieve particular objectives.

Team:

A team is made up of two or more people who work together to achieve a common goal

The major differences between group and team:

  • In a group every individual have a purpose. On the other hand in team the members typically realise that the only way to achieve a goal that cannot be realised by one individual.
  • Conflicts may arise in a group more often because they are many members and each have his own point of view in doing things. where as in team members usually share a emotional bond with each other.
  • In Group there is always some element of suspicion playing a role. In a team trust leads to open communication, resulting in everyone’s contribution being valued.
  • In a group results are not really celebrated. Feed back is given primarily when things go wrong and if improvements have to be introduced, The situation in team is quiet contrast They celebrate successes together , and appreciate each others work.
  • A group is a collection of individuals who coordinate their individual efforts. On the other hand, a team is a group of people who share a common team purpose and a number of challenging goals

The main similarity between the two is that the Members of the team are mutually committed to the goals and to each other.

In a group the work will take time to finish because as they are many conflicts may rise. and the work may be delayed

In team the completion of work will not take that time as compared to time taken in group. They have more understanding.

While all teams are groups of individuals, not all groups are teams.
