Answer #1

The main functions of the multidisciplinary team are to work towards a common goal. This can benefit the patient and the healthcare professionals. There are professionals from multiple sector (doctors, nurses, psychiatrist, social workers, therapist ,advocacy workers ,etc.) work to achieve a particular health status of a patient to recover from illness.

The interdisciplinary functions towards achieving a better patient outcome with a designated way of plan or in a specific direction where all professionals follow the rules in achieving a complete health status

The characteristics of successful team are

  • Able to handle any critical situations in timely manner and resolving it
  • Be a motivation for others
  • Improves the outcome (better patient care)
  • This team can provide financial security and high income to an organization
  • There is always a team work
  • Miscommunication doesn't happens
  • Conflicts doesn't exist for decisions which are made universally
  • Goals are the first priority of them

When a patient comes for a treatment. The care doesn't ends with a provider but continues till he recovers. Here the patient meets the provider, pharmacist to get the medicine. In case of hospital admission it will be a chain of professionals involved in the care of a patient. When there is no team work the interruption of treatment occurs and continuity is lost resulting in poor quality service.Hence team work is essential in healthcare organization's operation and delivery .
