Positive nutritional status : it means intake of needed nutrients for the body and digest those nutrients and utilization of digested and observed nutrients.

* And the weight and height of the persons should be maintained according to their age.

* the human body needs Macro nutrients and micro nutrients.

* Macronutrients are proteins that is 1 GM protein is per kg body weight needed for Indian adults.

Micronutrients like vitamins, minerals.

* if the person will take needed amounts of micro and macro nutrients leads to the person can maintain normal and healthy nutritional status.

In the infants good nutritional status seen by height and weight, head circumference, mid arm circumference.

If mid arm circumference is below 11 indicates severe malnutrition seen in protein energy malnutrition.

Undernutrition :

Is defined as low intake of nutritious diet and loss of muscle or wasting and shunting is called Undernutrition.

In protein energy malnutrition we will see under nutrition child,

Like kwashiorkor and marasmus .
