Answer: The appendicular skeleton plays specific role in the blood formation as they contains major components of blood such as calcium and phosphorus. It includes bone marrow cavity. These bone marrow have red marrow where the hematopoesis takes place. These bone marrows have blood cell production which is further destroyed by the liver.

All the red blood cells, platelets as well as white blood cells are formed in the bone marrow present in skeleton from where they flow and migrate to the circulation.
