The animal has to receive = 250 mg metronidazole by IV every 12 hours and to give        

over 60 minutes.

The metronidazole comes /available as = 5 mg/mL.

Drop factor is=10 gtt/ml

Flow rate in drops per minute= (250mg/60)/ 5mg/ml)   X 10 gtt/ml

                                           = (250mg/60) X (1ml/5mg) X 10 gtt/ml

                                           = 0.833 X 10= 8.3 gtt/ml will be the flow rate answer.
