Nursing is considered to be a Nobel subject and there are various different issues which are faced by the nurses in their day to day lives. One of such issue is ethical conflict where the nurses have certain things to consider as an ethical issue in their day to day life which will not only affect the life of the patient but theirs as well. In their professional career nurses has to take various different decisions which will put them in dilemma but they will have to choose within the choices which will provide less harm to the patient. There are 3 major ethical issues or lessons for the nurses to face during the time of providing of care. They are as follows:
- informed consent: it is a necessity to take an informed consent from the patient or the family members inorder to state that the parent and his family members know about the procedures or the treatment being implemented on the patient and that they agree to take responsibility on themselves if any complications occurs. But the patient has a full right to deny for any kind of treatment being practiced on him with his sound mind. If the patient is against any treatment then he can possibly say no and not sign the consent to protest against it. The nurse has to understand the situation and respect the patient's decision.
- telling the truth: it is a nurse's responsibility to fill the patient about his disease condition and tell the patient all the truth about his conditions. The nurse should also infrom the patient's family members about it without missing the details. It will make them sad or unhappy but if something happens to patient then they will already be prepared for it.
