They focuses on health promotion, health education, and disease prevention, and coordination of health care of the members of the community.
The levels of prevention includes
1. Primordial prevention : it is the concept of prevention of development of risk factors from childhood onwards.
For example : prevention of smoking and development of obesity, which may leads to hypotension.
2. Primary prevention : it includes Health promotion, specific protection,
For example : heath education regarding cessation of smoking and giving BCG vaccination to prevent Tuberculosis.
3. Secondary prevention : it includes early detection and prompt treatment,
For example : doing screening tests to find out diseases, before development of signs and symptoms. And provide treatment, in appropriate time.
4. Tertiary prevention : it includes disability limitation and rehabilitation,
For example : if the patient developed diabetics foot, for that patient we need to provide appropriate care to prevent still more development of complications and provide psychological support and educate exercises to do daily .
These are the levels of preventions maintained by community oriented nurse.

Is to improve health conditions of community population,
And to prevent diseases.

* Health education on cessation of smoking and alcoholism for hypertensive patients.
* Educate regarding importance of vaccination for children.
* health education on healthy life style activities.
* educate on daily exercises.
* council th public or community people to attend for health check ups regularly .
For example above 30 to 35 years old people need complete screening for total body health ect.
