Aboriginal people are one who has lived in the particular area before the development of civilization or any indigenous group came into existence. The incidence and prevalence of chronic disease is very high in these group. In an average from 34 to 74 years people suffer some sort of chronic diseases. The life expectancy shows a difference of about 12 years in male and 10 years in female when compared to the non-indigenous Australians. The major disease suffered by them are cardiovascular diseases ,diabetes mellitus, alcoholic liver disease, cancer of lung, kidney problems , cerebrovascular disease are very common among the aboriginal groups. The others being substance abuses like tobacco and cannabis. This  may be because of the socioeconomic status, educational backgrounds, adaptation to the newer form of lifestyles and its food habits, etc.,The life expectancy in male is 71.6 years and that of a female is 75.6 years. In simple this is because of a single individual having two or more chronic disease often termed to be multimorbidity.Hence the Australian government has taken a major initiative to bring down this under control and improve their quality and quantity of life.
