TEN health promotion initiatives that you know of or have seen around you.  Start with initiatives that are NYC-based (in your neighborhood, places you frequent, in subways, at your work place, on buses, etc.).  The initiatives should be designed to promote individual or community health.

Some of the most common health promotion initiatives that can be seen around widely and strictly to be followed to avoid jury.They are as following

  • Smoking and tobacco prevention awareness, camps,etc:This displays sign boards in the places where smoking is to be avoided ,if not followed can be punishable. Even the formation of the smoking zone or smoking point has reduced the effect on passive smokers
  • Awareness created onnthe infectious disease and its way to prevent it
  • Workplace health promotion initiated to help and protect the workers in their occupational environment by proper screening, regular check up etc.,
  • Physical activity programs initiated to reduce not only the physiological stress but also psychological stress
  • Reduction of cardiovascular problems , type 2 diabetes obesity among by adults to lead a disease free healthy life
  • FRESH in the school has promoted health and education among the school childrens
  • Violence prevention done for children and the elderly population
  • Immunization camps to prevent the communicable or infectious diseases
  • Environmental health maintainance to refuce the incidence of asthma
  • Encouraging to use helmets while bicycling to reduce the number of unexpected accidental injury
  • Addiction prevention programs to screen ,treat and eradicate the usage.
