Answer #1

Ordered Tylenol suspension = ½ tsp po q4h prn for fever for a child

Child's weight =32 lb.= 14.545 kg

1 teaspoon=m 4.928 ml

1/2 tsp=2.464 ml

Available= 325 mg /10ml

means 32.5 mg/ml

2.464 ml will contain= 2.464 X32.5= 80 mg po  q4h prn

As given recommended dose is 25 – 35 mg / kg / day q4h prn

for the child weighing 14.545 kg dose will be= 25 X 14.545 mg to 35X 14.545 mg= 363.6 mg to 509 mg per day  q4h prn

Hence the orderd dose is safe as it is within the safe dose limit range

And 1/2 teaspoon of Tylenol contains= 80 mg
