The case scenario is that Mollie had been fainting after an hour after eating and the doctors found she had a high blood alcohol concentration and thought she had been drinking. although she did not consume any alcohol so the doctors took some test and founf high yeast levels that werent normal to the normal microbiota.

2A) The concentration of yeast in Mollie's body is abnormally high. (The highlighted option is correct)

3) Respiration is a cellular process which is classified as aerobic as well as an anaerobic process. In aerobic respiration, oxygen is utilized to transform glucose into CO2 and H2O along with energy molecule ATP. Whereas in the case of anaerobic respiration the glucose is broken down either in ethanol or lactic acid in absence of oxygen. (Thus the highlighted option is correct i.e. anaerobic respiration as well as fermentation result in ethanol production)

4) Glucose acts as a precursor molecule for many metabolic pathways, also here if alcohol is being produced in Mollie's body a precursor molecule of glucose will be required. Thus when glucose will be administered in her body alcohol percent will simultaneously increase.

5) As seen in number 3, the lack of oxygen promotes the production of lactic acid pr ethanol from glucose.
