1) cellular respiration occur in presence of oxygen and in two subcellular compartments cytoplasm and mitochondria ( kreb cycle take place ).

2) fermentation take place in the absence of oxygen and take place in cytoplasm .

3) common pathway between fermentation and cellular respiration is glycolysis . pyruvate converted to acetyl Co A and enter kreb cycle in cellular respiration whereas in fermentation pyruvate converted into ethanol.

4) cellular pathway that occur in mitochondria are cellular respiration , oxidative phosphorylation and electron transport chain. The mechanism of ATP production in mitochondrion is called oxidative phosphorylation.

5) yeast fermentation substrate is glucose (sugar) and products are ethanol and carbon dioxide.

6) Respirometer are used to measure the volume of CO2produce during fermentation.
