Answer #1

Answer: The advantages of giving atropine sulfate before surgery are:

  • It keeps the heart rate normal
  • It decreases the secreation of mucus.
  • It eliminates the effect of chemical in the stomach.

The complications of the atropine sulfate are:

  • Decrease sweating
  • Nausea
  • Blurred vision
  • Dry mouth.

If the atropine like drug given to the patient for several months the then it is important to do assessment for such as euphoria, drowsiness etc.

Atropine sulfate differ from bethanechol chloride as bethanechol chloride is used in certain problems that is related to bladder such as reduced urination whereas the atropine sulfate is used to keep the heart rate normal during the surgery.
