1. Computer is needed at following places in a hospital

A. Reception- As soon as patient walks in, all details of patient are entered in computer most hospitas have software which helps to book appointment, send reminders to patients etc

B. Doctor room - These days hospitals are going paperless and so all patient records including their medical condition, investigation ordered and treatment etc is entered in software available in computer at your doctor's desk

C. Investigation room - Investigations are done and uploaded into software and reports can be assessed by doctor from his room

D. Pharmacy - Pharmacy uses computer to upload stock available,medicine sold on particular day and to generate invoice

E. Stores - Hospital maintain store room and computers are used here to maintain stock of all medical equipment and consumables

F. Councillor - Many hospitals appoint councillors to explain the medical condition to patients and discuss treatment options. They also explain and demonstrate surgical options via special softwares on computer.

2. The systems is used for the implementation of policies in order to better treat and prevent the spread of diseases. Health IT improves the quality of healthcare delivery, increases patient safety,decreases medical errors, and strengthens the interaction between patients and healthcareproviders.

3.A health information system (HIS) refers to a system designed to manage healthcare data. This includes systems that collect, store, manage and transmit a patient's electronic medical record (EMR), a hospital's operational management or a system supporting healthcare policy decisions. These days hospitals are going paperless and so all patient records including their medical condition, investigation ordered and treatment etc is entered in software available in computer.

4. Storage data in computer system is very helpful for patient history. After 2 years if a patient came for same disease or any other then it's very easy to track all treatment and medicines given for. Also all scanning records are also saved in system so that if a patient not taken his file then we can check easily in system based on his name and file no.
