1.The nurses responses in these types of situations should be

  • To support the patient psychologically by telling that this is temporary, ones when he is fit enough and recovered from his illness he can do it by himself.After ambulation he can do it by self without an assistance.
  • In case of any surgical patient ,inform they should not stress or strain and the healthcare professionals are their to help and assist them to recover with support

2.Some of the best intervention to reduce pain while ambulation are

  • Administer the analgesics as prescribed for the day
  • Assess the level of pain ,this gives an idea about the intensity of pain the patient has and enable to plan for care
  • Provide supportive devices like walking aides of right size and height.
  • Teach the techniques to walk if after surgery to reduce stress on the affected part
  • Application of medical equipments (braces) in the affected part to prevent alignment and reduce pain
  • Reassure the patient

3.Some of the comfort measures which can be done to ensure a several hour restorative sleep are

  • Provide a calm and quire environment, to avoid disturbances during sleep
  • Provide a dim light while sleeping, dark environment induces sleep
  • Encourage patient to have meal earlier avoid late night eating because thus can cause acid reflux problems
  • Warm bath can be ensured to improve circulation
  • Therapeutic massages to relieve strain on the muscles improve circulation and aide in sleep
  • Provide comfort devices like pillow ,blankets, etc.,
  • Adjust the room temperature
  • Make sure the patient is not disturbed for any medication or procedure during sleep.
