Why do the Mycoplasma pneumonia bacteria have such unusual cell shapes?
The Mycoplama pneumonia bacteria has no cell wall.An organism which has no cell wall cannot have definite shapes or make one.This makes them unique each time when they are tried to be destroyed by antibodies and usually resistant to most of the antibiotics. Hence the absence of cell wall makes them to have unusual cell shapes.
Why do the Mycoplasma pneumonia bacteria have such unusual cell shapes?
Is Mycoplasma Pneumonia and Mycoplasma Pneumoniae the same thing? Or is one of them the infection and the other one is the bacteria that causes the infection? Could you also explain some of the symptoms that you would see with someone suffering from Mycoplasma Pneumonia. Please explain.
