Question

Physics Spring Work Problem

An air track glider (m=.1 kg) is attached to the end of a horizontal air track by a spring force of 20 N/m.  Initially the spring is un-stretched and the glider is moving 1.5 m/s to the right. Friction coefficient is 0.47. Find the maximum distance d that the glider moves to the right:

a.  Without friction.

b.  With friction.
