Provide a brief overview of Medicare and Medicaid. When were these programs passed, who and how many people do they serve, how are they financed, how much do we spend on them and how we are trying to improve them? Describe how and why the public perceptions of each differs.

These two are seperate programs run by government and funded by different parts.

Medicare provide health insurance to people who have a disability no matter how much their income is if one is under 65 and to people over 65 age. It is a federal program.

Medicaid is a state as well as federal program that provide medicinal benefits to any person who has a low income.

If one is eligible for both one can have benefits from both the coverages.

On July 30, 1965 the programs were passed.

Medicare spending was 709.5 billion dollar and medicaid was 581.9 billion dollar in 2017.
