• A simple form recovering data technique is called as reprocessing transactions.
• This technique is similar to forward recovery but it uses update transactions instead of after images.
• Simplicity is one of the main advantage of reprocessing transaction.
• Reprocessing transaction is a time consuming process. Several hours of reprocessing is required which depends on the frequency of database backups and the time required to get transactions into identical sequence as that of previous updates.
• The new transactions processing is delayed until complete database is required.
• For example, in real time payment app a case may arise when a card needs to be reprocessed when a transaction encounters error like scenario or transaction was declined initially.
