Assortment of alleles of Gene A and B will depend on the position of these two genes on the chromosome. If the two genes are very closely spaced then these two genes will be linked. In that case certain genotypes will be more prominant than the others.

Lets say for A and B linked gene

The genotype of both the organism is AaBb. Now as A and B gene is linked, each organism will produce a higher frequency of AB and ab gamate than Ab or aB. This is because there will be no crossing over between AB or ab alleles and they will remain together during assortment.

But in case when A and B gene further apart in a chromosome, there will be a high chance of crossing over and thus the 4 types of gamates formed AB, ab, Ab and aB, all will have the same frequency.

Now for genes Cand D as they are in seperate chromosomes, they will get independently assorted and thus gamate genotypes can be similar to unlinked A and B. Thus equal frequencies of all 4 types of genotype( CD, Cd, cD, cd) will be seen.
